Head Judo Instructor

Nidan (2nd degree black belt in Judo)

During my travels I was introduced to the sport of Judo in Europe.  I did not fully stick with it though until I returned to Northwest Florida and started full time in 1983.  At that time I began training on a regular basis and under the direction of Sensei Teddy Highers, Godan (5th degree black belt), I reached my goal of black belt by 1989.  I achieved this goal by continuous practice, participation in area tournaments, and testing on various factors of Judo.  After being competitive for many years and making it to the level of nationals, I decided to give up the competitions and focus on teaching the sport to others.  One of my proudest moments in teaching came when one of my students was chosen to train for the Olympic games at the Colorado Olympic Training Center.  I truly enjoy teaching and sharing all that I have learned, under my Sensei, to new and existing students at my current gym location Capitao Jiu-Jitsu & MMA.
